Surprise, Poland is back!

While it looked like next year’s Eurovision Song Contest would see a maximum of 37 countries, TVP, the national broadcaster of Poland, has now decided to apply for participation, according to eurowizja.org.
Poland last participated in Düsseldorf in 2011, but withdrew in 2012 when Poland hosted the UEFA Euro 2012 Cup with Ukraine and deemed it too costly to do both. The country remained absent from Malmö in 2013 and showed no signs of returning in 2014.
But, it appears Poland will now be back. Why TVP decided to apply this late and how the 2014 Polish entrant will be selected remains unknown. The broadcaster has until January 10 to withdraw its application without receiving a fine.
UPDATE: TVP has confirmed their participation.
Stay tuned for more updates as it develops!Source
