Switzerland's broadcaster for Eurovision, SRF, has confirmed the country's participation at Eurovision 2018 in Portugal and they have announced that they will host their national final on February 4.

SRF have also released new rules for their selection. The songs and artists will be chosen separately for 2018. SRF asks for those interested to submit their songs from September 1. The artists will be chosen later. After a livecheck show, six artists will progress to the televised final. The winner will be chosen by both televoting and an international expert jury at a 50/50 ratio.

This year, Timebelle represented Switzerland in Kyiv with the song Apollo. They failed to reach the final, finishing in 12th place in semi final 2.
