It’s Trijntje Oosterhuis for The Netherlands!
Iain Cameron

Dutch broadcaster, AvroTros, has revealed this morning that it will be Trijntje Oosterhuis who sings for The Netherlands come May in Vienna! The big reveal was made on Gouden Uren (an NPO Radio 2 show) after rumours that the artist would represent the nation started circulating last week. Trijntje released the following statement about her selection:

I feel very honoured to have been asked to represent the Netherlands at the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna. After the good performances and results by Anouk and The Common Linnets the past two years, it is of course more exciting but also very fun. The song was co-written by Anouk and it is very nice that she wants to share her experiences of the contest with me.”

The song promises to be something new and unexpected as Trijntje says, “It’s an incredible, fresh song! A song you wouldn’t expect from Anouk or me!”

Daniel Dekker spoke on behalf of AvroTros, “With Trijntje Oosterhuis the AvroTros has once again contracted a big Dutch artist. We are very proud that she wants to represent our country. With the combination of Trijntje’s beautiful voice and Anouks song we will confidently go to the jubileum edition of the greatest music event in the world.”

More information about the song, co-authored by Anouk, will follow when it is made available. Before then, you can listen to one of Trijntje’s most famous tracks, “De Zee,” below:
