Two panels will pick the Irish finalists
Ireland’s Head of Delegation, Michael Healy, has announced that the entries received for Ireland’s selection will be reviewed and narrowed down by a panel of music experts. The first panel will choose between 40 and 50 songs to progress. The songs will then be narrowed down a second time by another panel into the six entries that will compete to represent Ireland.
Ireland has received over 200 entries for their national final. It is not yet known if The Late Late Show will be used again as a televised final.
The Irish songs and performers will be revealed by RTE on February 6.
The winner of the Irish selection will represent Ireland at the 60th Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna.
