Bigger names

Among the finalists are two runner ups from previous editions of the Danish selection. Danni Elmo came second in 2006 and Bryan Rice in 2010.

The line-up also features popular Danish singer Anna David, dancer Sonny Fredie Pedersen, Nadia Malm, who has had several hits in Denmark as a featured vocal with Svendstrup & Vendelbo, DJ and saxophone player Michael Rune featuring American singer Natascha Bessez, and X Factor graduate Basim, who interestingly has helped write not only his own song, but also one of his competitor’s.

Team behind last year’s winner not present

The songwriting team behind last year’s winner “Only Teardrops” with Emmelie de Forest (Lise Cabble, Julia Fabrin Jakobsen, and Thomas Stengaard) is not in the line-up, even though Lise Cabble has had at least one song in every selection since 2007.

Snippets of the songs will be released February 17.

The Danish final will take place in Odense on March 8.
