Following Jamala’s win last Saturday with the song “1944,” now everything turns to Ukraine. After six days of discussing, the cabinet hopes on sponsors' support for Eurovision 2017.

Yevhen Nyshchuk, Ukrainian Cuture Minister, said that Ukraine is going to host Eurovision 2017, costing around EUR 14.5 million, according to TV news service Sweden, the country which hosted this year's Eurovision, spent this amount of money. This sounds that Ukraine may allocate the similar sum for next year's contest, said during a political talk show.

“These are usually sponsors’ funds from different media companies, sponsors. This happens almost every time,” added the minister. After this said, the hosting Eurovision, is not just the host city, but also raising the region’s attractiveness and even earnings.

“I had a working visit to Sweden at the invitation of the Swedish culture minister amid Eurovision in 2016, therefore I witnessed Jamala’s great victory. Prior to that, I met with media moguls who had been organizing that unbelievably high tech show. They said that in fact they were making money. People’s concerns and Ukrainian Finance Minister Oleksandr Danylyuk’s anxiety about earnings and expenditures are natural,” he added.

He told during the show that Kyiv Mayor – Vitaliy Klitschko and Kherson’s authorities had called him in reference the contest. “I’ve heard that Odesa, Lviv, and Dnipro are ready to host the contest. I have had calls from Kherson. This is the understanding of what we all can do,” he said.
