Ukraine will return to Eurovision in 2016!

After an unfortunate withdrawal from the contest in late 2014 due to financial and political reasons brought on by war, Ukraine will return to the Eurovision Song Contest in 2016!

“Yes, we will,” responded Zurab Alasaniya, General Director of NTU (National Television of Ukraine), when asked if Ukraine will be returning in 2016.

“All will depend on the final participation costs set by the EBU,” Alasaniya continued.

Alasaniya elaborated to say that the final decision will be made by the end of 2015, and will depend on the cost of participation, which he said is usually a few hundred thousand Swiss Francs.

Ukraine last participated in Eurovision 2014 with Mariya Yaremchuk and her song “Tick-Tock.”
