United Kingdom set to reveal entry on March 7!
BBC, the United Kingdom’s national broadcaster, has announced that the British entry for Eurovision will be revealed on March 7!
The artist and song will be introduced to the British public through the Red Button service and will then become widely available through the BBC Eurovision website and the official Eurovision website.
This year, the BBC welcomed open submissions (in addition to acts from the BBC Introducing platform) with both artists and composers having the chance to represent the country by sending in submissions until November 7. The head of the United Kingdom’s delegation, Guy Freeman, said of this year’s selection process, “Ultimately, one song stood out as having both instant impact and real memory staying power.”
Molly Smitten-Downes represented the United Kingdom in 2014 with her self-penned track, “Children of the Universe”. She came 17th in a field of 26 during the grand final in Copenhagen.
