So...what about Poland?
Fans are awaiting for confirmation from Polish broadcaster, TVP, on the participation in the 60th Eurovision Song Contest. People in the country are almost certain that Poland will take part in the competition and they will pay attention to who will be the next representation after Donatan & Cleo.
Recall that Poland came back this year to the competition after a two-year break and stormed to the final, taking 14th place there, which is a huge success for this country. An advantage was that the artists enjoyed great popularity in their home country.
So in that case, will TVP once again choose someone already known? Choose a local hit to be their representative? From September 1 onward, fans will be watching for the recorded songs of local Polish artists.
The biggest favorite of fans, both Polish and foreign is Sylwia Grzeszczak. She has released continuously for several years, gaining prestigious awards in the country, and especially in 2014: “Artist of the Year,” “Album of the Year (Komponując siebie),” “Hit of the year (Księżniczka),” etc. Many believe that Sylwia Grzeszczak would be able to bring the contest to Warsaw.
Another hot name relating to the Eurovision Song Contest is DODA, the most popular singer in Poland in the years 2004-2008. She took the second place in MTV European Artist in 2009, losing only to the Turkish band MaNga (ESC 2010). This year, she won a poll for the “dream Polish representative” at the Eurovision Song Contest organized by the blog Dziennik-Eurowizyjny (Sylwia Grzeszczak was 2nd). A page on Facebook called “Doda for Eurovision” has more than 8,000 fans.
Another hot rumor is that we will hear Cleo again. Donatan prepared another hit, which as described is similar to the “My Słowianie.” The title of the new single is “Brać.” The premiere will take place on September 22. Would you like to hear again Cleo on the Eurovision stage?
